We are excited to announce that the new studio is now open to artist renters.
Becoming an Artist Renter:
To become an Artist Renter all potential studio artists must attend orientation and undergo an interview, regardless of their background. As there are potential hazards in using the equipment and related materials, APS assesses the technical abilities of potential studio artists during orientation and an interview. Those who need to brush up on their skills are encouraged to take a class before attempting to work independently in the studio. We do not judge artistic merit in these interviews.
STEP 1 – Download, Review, and Fill Out:
Studio Renters Manual & Contract is an overview of rental information, studio policies & procedures, and safety measures.
Every potential Artist Renter must read and sign the Studio Renters Manual & Contract. This Manual & Contract is a legally binding document. By signing it, the Artist acknowledges understanding policies and agrees to follow the instructions and procedures outlined in the Manual. If an artist is found not following these instructions and policies, he/she will be denied access to the studio.
You can type your contract information directly into the PDF.

STEP 2 – Sign Up for Orientation & Interview
Orientation is the next step in becoming an artist renter. It's held at the end of every month. ALL artists interested in becoming a renter MUST attend orientation and show print examples during an interview following orientation.
Email Kathy Garrou to arrange an orientation appointment.
STEP 3 – Bring completed application with you to orientation and pay the deposit
There are no fees for attending orientation. Please allow sufficient time for this process before you plan to start working in the studio.
Any artist who has experience as a printmaker has the opportunity to become an artist renter at APS.
APS's studio artists work on an independent basis to produce their own prints. Studio rental is designed specifically for individuals who have demonstrated an appropriate level of experience in printmaking and are granted access to work in one or more printmaking techniques, including relief, letterpress, intaglio, monotype and screen printing. While studio artists are not required to have extensive experience in their chosen medium, we do require that they can use the facilities correctly, independently, safely, and with consideration for other studio artists.
COVID-19 Precautions
Atlanta Printmakers Studio continues recommended health and safety precautions to keep visitors, artists, and staff safe.
As the community level for COVID-19 has lowered, masks are now optional, but encouraged for visitors, artists, and staff.
APS recommends that everyone maintain social distancing as much as possible.
Limited class sizes will continue to be implemented.
We will continue to monitor and follow health guidance and adjust policies as necessary.
