Paths – Trayectos: Print Exchange Portfolio
December 1 - 31
Reception: Sunday, December 8th, 2 - 5 pm
APS’s 7th Print Exchange “Paths - Trayectos” is in collaboration with Pacarina Grabado in Quito, Ecuador. 50 artists (25 from each studio) were asked to reflect on the idea of “path” and its many interpretations: life paths, geographical paths, spiritual paths, migratory routes, and celestial trajectories. Paths take us from where we are to somewhere new. The paths we take in life are varied, blazed by convenience, expectation, need, or desire. Some paths are well-planned, others spontaneous. All of the work in this exhibition will take the viewer on a new visual journey!

Exceptional Exhibition of Color Viscosity Etchings by Krishna Reddy
Atlanta Printmakers Studio Announces New Exhibition; Krishna Reddy: The Mystery of Time and Becoming
October 5 – November 9, 2024
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 5, 2024, 5 pm - 7 pm
Atlanta Printmakers Studio presents an exhibition of innovative Modernist viscosity etchings by the internationally known artist Krishna Reddy, from the collection of Amit Prasad.
Krishna Reddy (American, born India 1925–2018 New York) was an influential artist best known for pioneering the simultaneous color printing technique known as viscosity etching, along with Stanley William Hayter and Kaiko Moti, in Paris at the collaborative print studio Atelier 17. Viewers of the exhibition will be fortunate to see a select grouping of intaglio color viscosity prints created in the 1950s-60’s at the height of Reddy’s inventive technical explorations.
Reddy worked in the techniques of printmaking and sculpture, creating abstract and semi-abstract work that referenced both natural and figurative elements, full of movement and often with a nod to the Surrealists. The viscosity etching process Reddy used involves incising into a metal plate that is deeply etched with acid at multiple levels, simultaneously inked with different colors and viscosities (or stickiness) of ink, then run through a press to produce a sculptural and transformative impression on paper.
This is a rare opportunity for a focused viewing of Reddy’s prints which were curated from the collection of Dr. Amit Prasad, who has one of the best collections of Reddy's works in the world.

Caught Looking: New Work by John Folsom
Atlanta Printmakers Studio is pleased to present an exhibition of new photo based, mixed media screen prints by the accomplished artist John Folsom.
Folsom’s new series, Caught Looking, marks a radical departure from his previous landscape imagery. Building on a body of work begun in 1995, Folsom is working with found photographs to forge possible histories related to the gay experience in the 20th century. This new work aims to broaden understanding and offer a new way to think about history, identity and representation.
Atlanta Printmakers Studio is excited to feature work from our local Hapeville resident and APS studio artist, and to highlight inclusivity and art work that speaks to a diversity of experiences and perspectives as presented in Caught Looking.
