Hal Sterne attending Vandercook Maintenance Workshop

Hal Sterne attending Vandercook Maintenance Workshop

The children of Harold & Judi Sterne approached APS with a donation to commemorate the work of their parents who have dedicated their careers to the arts. The funds established a scholarship program to underwrite the tuition of one student for a class and one student for a workshop at Atlanta Printmakers Studio each year. All artists are eligible to apply, regardless of experience level. The award is not specifically based on financial need, but rather a broader sense of need, and how the scholarship could benefit your particular creative pursuits. APS provides equal opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, national origin, color, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.

APS Board Members and employees are not eligible to apply. APS members, contracted APS instructors and volunteers are eligible to apply.

Application Deadline:

December 31 of every year

Each year two people are selected: one to receive a free class & one to receive a free workshop.

APS publishes its class schedule on the website as soon as possible, but you may be applying before all classes are announced. It is helpful if you are interested in more than one kind of printmaking class or workshop. Our classes are generally held once a week on weeknights, and the workshops are usually held on weekends. If awarded the scholarship, you will be given a certificate to be used during the designated time period – Session dates start in January and run through early December.
